Celebrating in Menorca, Son Bou’s World Cup Party

Spain’s first World Cup win on Sunday wasn’t just celebrated on the Spanish mainland, but the festivities also extended to all of the Balearic Islands. Honking car horns could be heard throughout the island of Menorca, Son Bou celebrated with red and yellow fireworks and millions in Menorca waved Spanish flags in a show of national pride.

The celebrations in Menorca might not have been as large as those on the mainland, where millions of people lined the streets of Madrid to give the team a hero’s welcome, but the island celebrated in its own, slightly more reserved, way.

The smaller bars are well known for their warm and friendly atmosphere, but most of the evening entertainment on a Son Bou holiday takes place in the hotels of the region. It is a family orientated resort, and many of the hotels regularly host variety shows during the summer season. You don’t always need to be staying at these hotels in order to experience the entertainment that they have on offer during a holiday in Son Bou, and often a cover charge or a few drinks in the hotel bar are enough to secure you some excellent evening entertainment.
